Hello, my name is Yvonne Larrabee, but I prefer to be called Wendy. I am currently living in San Antonio, Texas. I was born in Washington State, but was raised in Glendale, Arizona. I married in January 1989 & became an Air Force wife in March 1989. Thanks to Uncle Sam I have lived in places I never dreamed I’d ever go. From Arizona we went to Hill Air Force Base, Utah (89-91); Germany (91-96); Azores (96-98); Guam (98-00); Turkey (00-02); Korea (02-03); Florida (03-08), Texas (08-PRESENT).
My husband is still in the Air Force. We have 3 great children. Anthony is 22 & received his Associate degree from Gulf Coast Community College in Florida; he is currently researching Universities to continue his educational endeavors. Anthony loves riding his motorcycle. Andrew is a senior at Judson High School; he has an artistic gift and designed our logo for our working therapy dog organization. Alyssa is a sophomore at Judson High School; she loves ALL animals as well as photography. My husband & our son Andrew are avid BMX riders.
Being a military spouse is very challenging with every move it usually means I am starting over with jobs and school. I have an Associate’s degree in Pre-Education through Gulf Coast Community College. My original major was education, but I changed to Psychology, with the hopes to use my therapy dog in what I do in the future. I am currently employed at the Child Development Program at Randolph Air Force Base.
I am currently Vice President of a great organization, Paws 4 Hearts Working Therapy Dogs. Ever since I can remember I have always wanted to have a working therapy dog. I love to help people of all ages & be able to give back especially to our military members, who sacrifice so much for us. Chief and I enjoy making a difference in lives one paw print at a time. I also enjoy reading, spending time with my husband and kids, volunteering, traveling, animals and photography.
